Jesus be my guide, in all I do and say, in how I care for others, in all my work and play

Headteacher's welcome
St Bernadette’s is a little village school which has 101 children. Our children start in Reception with an intake of 15. This means that they get lots of individual attention, challenge and support which enables them to flourish during their first year in school. Children in Years 1-6 are taught in mixed year groups and we concentrate on the ability, strengths and needs of the child, rather than their year group. This enables us to accurately pitch the work to every child’s needs.

I don’t want to share anything that invades privacy or causes more pain, but I feel compelled to say something. I was there on Sunday when the tragic accident happened. I was first on scene and called the ambulance. Several of us stopped, including a first responder and a nurse that were so brave and we did everything we possibly could for Suzanne. I stayed with her right by her side until the air ambulance arrived but it was just too late bless her 💔 It’s a surreal and heartbreaking experience and wasn’t nice to witness, that will stay with me forever. To all of Suzanne’s family, friends, and everyone at the school. I’m truly sorry for your loss. The police encouraged me to talk about what happened, and while it’s hard to put into words, I just can’t stop thinking about her and everyone affected. ❤️😢
Dialling one for reception will never be the same again
